Car rental desks sit in the arrivals area, close to the baggage carousels, ready for pickup straight after you land. A car makes most sense for the lakes and the mountains rather than for Milan itself, where traffic and restricted zones make driving a chore. Lake Como is about an hour away, Lake Garda roughly 90 minutes, central Bergamo about 10 minutes, and Milan around an hour on the A4.

No hotels connect directly to the terminal, but several sit within a short walk or drive. The NH Orio al Serio Airport hotel is the closest, right across from the airport next to the Oriocenter mall; it links to the terminal by a 15 minute walk through an underground passage, or a paid shuttle that runs mornings only and needs booking a day ahead.
