This lamb pilaf, colored with saffron and served with roasted onions, is one of the finest dishes of traditional Qatari cuisine. You can savor authentic flavors at the small restaurants in the back alleys of Souq Waqif.
Don’t forget to visit The Pearl artificial island. You can take a pleasant stroll along the Venice-style canals while superyachts dock at the Porto Arabia marina.

Direct flights are available from Doha International Airport to destinations such as Sharjah, Dubai, Riyadh, Abu Dhabi, Jeddah, Muscat, London Heathrow, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Madrid, Mumbai, Delhi, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, and Hong Kong. Doha International Airport has one terminal.
You can quickly reach the city center from Doha International Airport via the Doha Metro’s Red Line. The metro station is approximately a 5-minute walk from the terminal’s main exit. The metro stop is located next to the West Short-Term Parking Area. After exiting the Arrivals Hall, simply follow the “Metro” signs. The signs are in both Arabic and English.
The journey time from Hamad Intl Airport T1 station to Msheireb on the Metro Red Line is 16 minutes. Trains depart every 5 minutes. Bus No. 747 operates between the airport and Al Ghanim Bus Terminal. This bus runs between 4:50 AM and 11:50 PM. The bus departs from the terminal every 20 minutes.
Bus No. 777 operates from Doha Airport to The Pearl and Katara Cultural Village. This bus runs between 5:00 AM and 11:00 PM. Fare: 5 QAR. The bus stop is located at the Bus Pavilion on the right side of the Arrivals Hall. After exiting Arrivals, turn right and follow the signs.
The taxi stand is located at the Taxi Pavilion on the left side of the Arrivals Hall. Turquoise-colored Karwa taxis operate 24 hours a day.

Doha Hamad Airport Terminal
There is one terminal at Doha Airport. The terminal has five concourses. The ground floor of the terminal is the arrivals area. After disembarking the plane, proceed to passport control. There are five concourses here: A, B, C, D, and E. There are moving walkways inside the terminal. After passport control, proceed to the baggage claim area. After collecting your luggage, enter the Arrivals Hall.
In the Arrivals Hall, there are 13 currency exchange offices, ATMs, pharmacy services, and information desks. SIM card sales points are also located here.
The check-in area is located in the central section of the main terminal. Counters for Qatar Airways and other airlines are clearly marked with signs. There are separate check-in zones for Economy, Business, and First Class. After passing through security, you can proceed to the Duty-Free Plaza.
The Duty-Free Plaza features shops, cafes, restaurants, and VIP Lounges. This area is divided into two sections: North and South.
To reach the Concourses, you can use the moving walkways and the short-distance terminal train. The walking time between Concourse A and Concourse B is 5-10 minutes. Concourse A has 10 gates. It is located west of the main terminal. Concourse B has 10 gates. Concourse C has 24 gates.
Doha Hamad Airport Car Rental
Renting a car at Doha Airport is very easy. The car rental counters are not inside the terminal but in a separate building across from the Arrivals Hall. After passing through customs from the Arrivals Hall, follow the signs to the building across the way. Look for the yellow signs that say “Car Rental.” You’ll reach the car rental hall via a covered walkway in about 2-3 minutes.
The car rental center features the following companies: Sixt, AVR, Gold Car, Castle Limousine, Q-Auto Mobility, Safety Rent a Car, Rent Solutions, Select, Elite Motors, AAB, Enterprise, Platinum, Regency Fleets, Prestige, Sixt, Al Mana, Mustafawi, Budget, Strong, Herts, and Europcar. Sixt, Alamo, AVR, and National are located between counters 9 and 13. Sixt is open 24 hours a day. Enterprise, Alamo, and National operate between 7:00 AM and 12:00 AM.
After renting your car, you can pick it up from the airport parking lot. The vehicles are located in the short-term parking lot. The walk takes 5 minutes. The minimum rental age is 21. A driver’s license, passport, and credit card are required to rent a car.
There are plenty of routes to explore by car in Doha. You can rent a car from the airport to visit Katara and The Pearl or join desert safaris. Exit the airport and follow Ras Abu Abboud Street. Drive along the Corniche. From there, stop by the Museum of Islamic Art.

The Al Safwa First Lounge is one of the world’s most exclusive airport lounges. The Al Safwa First Lounge is located on the 3rd floor of the Duty-Free South Plaza. You can reach it via the escalator to the right of the Lamp Bear statue. This lounge is exclusively available to Qatar Airways and Oneworld First Class passengers. Privilege Club Platinum members may also gain access when traveling in Business Class. You may stay inside for up to 6 hours.
The lounge is open 24 hours a day. Inside the lounge, there is a private spa, a jacuzzi, bedrooms, office booths, a full buffet, and an à la carte restaurant.
The Al Mourjan Business Lounge is free for Qatar Airways and Oneworld Business Class passengers. Economy passengers, excluding those flying Business Class Lite, can also use the lounge area for a specific fee. The South Lounge is on the 3rd floor. The Garden Lounge is located on the upper level of the Orchard, an indoor tropical garden. This lounge features conference rooms, a game room, a children’s play area, a spa, and a swimming pool.
The Oryx Lounge is designed for passengers of airlines other than Qatar Airways and holders of certain credit cards. An on-site payment option is available. This VIP Lounge is located in the northern section of the airport.
The Al Maha Lounge is located in two different locations. One branch is on the 2nd floor of the Departures Hall before passport control. The other branch is in the Airside area.

There is one hotel inside the terminal at Doha Airport. The Oryx Airport Hotel is located in South Plaza, right next to the Lamp Bear statue. You can access the hotel without going through customs or passport control. This hotel is actually designed for transit passengers. It features 100 rooms and six different room types. Check-in and check-out times are flexible based on flight schedules. You can reserve a hotel room for short stays of 4 to 8 hours.
The Hyatt Regency is 2 kilometers from Doha International Airport. This hotel has 400 rooms. You can reach the hotel from the airport in five minutes via the hotel’s free shuttle service. For travelers with early morning flights, this hotel is the most comfortable option.
Premier Inn Doha Airport is approximately 10 minutes from Doha International Airport. This hotel offers more affordable rates. Premier Inn Doha Airport is 600 meters from the National Museum Metro Station. The hotel offers a free shuttle service to guests.
