My team includes a pilot who has worked at various airports for many years. The experience he brought from the field made it very clear to me just how important airports are for passengers. Together, we saw that knowing the terminal layout in advance makes a huge difference in ensuring a smooth, comfortable, and well-organized journey. This realization led me to create a platform that makes airport maps more understandable and accessible.
This idea evolved into a much stronger concept with the help of the cartographer who joined our team. As someone who has worked with spatial data, plans, and wayfinding information for years, they brought a very valuable perspective to the project. This allowed us to combine flight operations knowledge with cartographic expertise in one place. I focused on transforming these two powerful areas into a user-friendly structure. The result was a robust project where real-world experience and technical knowledge came together.
We created all the maps here based on data. Official plans, terminal diagrams, verifiable sources, and on-site observations formed the foundation of this process. Conducting on-site inspections at some airports contributed significantly to the project. In fact, for certain maps, traveling to the relevant country to see the terminal structure firsthand, assess the flow on-site, and observe the details directly became one of the most valuable parts of the process for us. Thanks to this approach, every map became stronger, clearer, and more useful.
I always view this project from the user’s perspective. I think about how a passenger will reach the gate, how they’ll plan their terminal transit, or how they can navigate the airport more comfortably. Each team member’s expertise complements one another here. The pilot handles the operational side, the map engineer ensures spatial accuracy, and I take on the role of transforming all this information into a simple and user-friendly experience.
