This airport is a busy international airport serving both Hartford, Connecticut, and Springfield, Massachusetts. It is located approximately 15 miles (24 km) north of Hartford city center and approximately 12 miles (19 km) south of Springfield city center. The airport serves an average of 6-7 million passengers annually.

Bradley International Airport Terminal Structure

Bradley International Airport has one terminal. Terminal A is the main area for passengers. All flight operations are conducted from this terminal.

Terminal A is the heart of all land and air side operations at the airport. Check-in counters, baggage claim carousels, security checkpoints, ground transportation connections, various dining options, and shopping stores are located in this terminal building.

The terminal has three floors. The ground floor is reserved for arrivals. The first floor is reserved for departures. The second floor houses the Connecticut Airport Authority’s administrative offices.
There are two concourses within Terminal A:

East Concourse (Gates 1-12): Low-cost and international carriers such as Aer Lingus, Delta, Frontier, JetBlue, Southwest, Spirit, and Sun Country use this concourse.

West Concourse (Gates 20-30): Air Canada, American, Breeze, and United Airlines operate domestic flights from this concourse.

Both concourses are accessible on foot from the terminal after passing through security. The concourses feature a variety of restaurants, cafes, shops, and waiting areas where passengers can spend time before or after their flights. Free Wi-Fi internet access is available throughout the airport.

Parking Areas

Bradley Airport has parking areas where passengers can park their vehicles.

Garage (Indoor Parking): This is an indoor parking area directly connected to Terminal A. It is the closest parking area to the terminal. It is ideal for both short and long-term parking. The hourly rate starts at approximately $4, and the maximum daily rate is $25.

Express Lot 1: This is within walking distance of the terminal and is a more economical parking option. The daily fee is 10 USD. There is also a free shuttle service between the parking lot and the terminal.

Economy Lot 4: This is an economical parking area located a short distance from the terminal. Free shuttle buses run continuously between the terminal and the parking lot. This is the most affordable long-term parking option. The daily rate is around 7-8 USD.

Cell Phone Waiting Lot: This is a free area for passengers who want to wait for arriving passengers without leaving their vehicles. It is located near the terminal. You can wait for up to 60 minutes in this area.

Electric vehicle charging stations are available in certain parking areas. All parking lots have designated parking spaces for people with disabilities, located near the terminal entrances. Payments can be made with credit cards and various mobile payment systems.

Car Rental at the airport

Car rental at Bradley International Airport is very convenient. Car rental company counters are located in a dedicated Car Rental Center just outside the terminal building, within easy walking distance. Opened in 2022, the $210 million Ground Transportation Center brings all major car rental companies under one roof. Many leading companies such as Avis, Hertz, Enterprise, National, Budget, and Alamo provide services here. Directional signs from the terminal to this center are available. You can reach the car rental center on foot in a short time. Most companies’ offices are open every day of the week, usually 24 hours a day. You can pick up the car you rented from the parking lot next to the car rental center.

Find transportation from the airport – bus, train, taxis

Bus (CTtransit – Bradley Flyer): The 30-Bradley Flyer bus line, operated by CTtransit, runs regularly from Terminal A to Hartford city center (including Union Station) and some surrounding locations. The journey takes approximately 30-40 minutes. Bus stops are located outside the terminal in designated areas.

Train: Windsor Locks station is very close to the airport. You can reach the station quickly by bus or taxi. You can use Amtrak and Hartford Line routes to reach your destination.

Regional Services: Some private shuttle companies offer service to various areas of Massachusetts and Connecticut, universities, and hotels. Don’t forget to make a reservation in advance.

Taxi: Taxis are available 24/7 at designated taxi stands outside the Arrivals level of Terminal A.
Rideshare (Uber/Lyft): There are designated pickup locations for Uber and Lyft rideshare services on the Arrivals level of Terminal A.

VIP Lounge at Bradley International Airport

The Escape Lounge The Centurion Studio Partner (Terminal A): Located in Terminal A, directly opposite Gate 1. This lounge is free or discounted for American Express Platinum and Centurion cardholders. Other passengers can use this area for a fee. Fee: $60. The lounge is open from 5:00 AM to 8:00 PM. The lounge offers free Wi-Fi, comfortable seating areas, work stations, a variety of food and beverage offerings (including local specialties), and charging stations.

Lost & Found

If you have lost an item in general areas such as the terminal building, security checkpoints, or parking lots, you should contact the Connecticut Airport Authority Lost and Found Office. Various banks have ATMs available for passengers in Terminal A and the concourses. You can easily find ATMs in the check-in area, after security, and in the baggage claim areas. These ATMs are generally available 24/7. You can perform basic banking transactions such as withdrawing money and checking your balance.

Duty Free

There are duty-free shops at Bradley Airport. Duty-free alcohol, tobacco products, perfume, cosmetics, and confectionery are sold to international travelers. These shops are usually located in areas with international flights. The shops open three hours before international flights.

Sheraton Hartford Hotel at Bradley Airport: This is the only hotel directly connected to Terminal A via a covered walkway. Conference and meeting rooms are available.

Hampton Inn by Hilton Hartford-Airport: Located 1.1 miles from the airport. A popular option with free breakfast and airport shuttle service.

Bradley International Airport Flights and Airlines

Bradley International Airport is an important hub for JetBlue, Southwest Airlines, American Airlines, and Delta Air Lines. Many national and international airlines, including Aer Lingus (with direct flights to Dublin), Air Canada, Breeze Airways, Frontier Airlines, Spirit Airlines, Sun Country Airlines, and United Airlines, operate regular flights from Bradley Airport.

Direct flights are available from the airport to numerous cities within the United States (including Florida destinations, Chicago, Atlanta, Washington D.C., Charlotte, etc.) and some international destinations (such as Dublin, Toronto, Montreal, and Cancun).
