Paris! The capital of romance. Before stepping into this dream city, there is a massive fortress you must overcome: Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport is also known as Roissy Airport. Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport may be the most complex airport you have ever seen. This airport is one of the busiest in Europe. You can easily find your way around the terminals by studying the Paris Airport map.

This distance may seem far to you. But there are many transportation options from the airport to the city center. There are taxi stands right outside the terminals. Paris city center is divided into Rive Droite and Rive Gauche. Taxis charge a fixed fare to the city center.

If you want to reach the city center quickly, you can take the RER B train. The train takes approximately 25-35 minutes to reach Gare du Nord station. Trains run every 10-15 minutes from 4:50 a.m. to 12:50 a.m. There are RER stations at Terminal 2 and Terminal 3.

There are bus stops in front of the airport terminals. You can reach the city center with RATP buses numbered 350 and 351. However, the journey with these buses takes 70-80 minutes. BlaBlaBus, Flixbus, and Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 1 operate services to domestic destinations from the bus terminal outside the RER station.

Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport Terminal

There are three terminals at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport: Terminal 1, Terminal 2, and Terminal 3. Terminal 2 is a large complex divided into 2A-2G. Terminal 2 is divided into seven sub-terminals: 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D, 2E, 2F, and 2G. Each terminal serves different airlines. The free CDGVAL shuttle train service operates between terminals.

Terminal 1

Terminal 1 looks like something straight out of a science fiction movie with its architecture. This terminal, with its futuristic circular design, has five floors. Terminal 1 is used by Star Alliance airlines such as Lufthansa and United. Air France uses this terminal for some of its international flights. The second floor of the terminal has shops and restaurants, CDGVAL inter-terminal train service platforms, and check-in counters. The third floor has taxi stands and bus stops. The fourth floor has gates, shops, and restaurants. The fifth floor has baggage claim carousels. Luxury stores such as Hermès, La Maison du Chocolat, and L’Occitane are located inside the terminal. There are approximately 30 shops and duty-free stores. The terminal has a VIP Lounge and car rental company offices.

Terminal 2

Terminal 2 is divided into 7 terminals: 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D, 2E, 2F, and 2G. Terminals 2A through 2F are connected by walkways. Terminal 2G can be reached by shuttle buses from Terminal 1, Terminals 2A through 2F, and Terminal 3.

Terminal 2G is used for passengers flying from the Schengen Area.

Terminals 2A and 2C are used by Air Canada, Air India, Ethiopian Airlines, British Airways, Qantas, Royal Jordanian, Air Senegal, Emirates, Gulf Air, and LATAM Chile.

Terminals 2B and 2D are used by American Airlines, Finnair, Royal Air Maroc, Aegean Airlines, Croatia Airlines, LOT Polish Airlines, ITA Airways, Scandinavian Airlines, Air Austral, Air Tahiti Nui, easyJet, and JetBlue.

Terminals 2E and 2F are reserved for Air France and SkyTeam partners.

The terminal has restaurants, cafes, shops, and duty-free stores. It is the largest terminal at the airport.

Terminal 3

Terminal 3 is located directly opposite Terminal 1. This terminal is single-story. Terminal 3 is used for charter flights and by low-cost airlines. There are no boarding gates in Terminal 3. All passengers are transported to the aircraft parking areas by airport buses. Air Transat and some European and North African low-cost airlines use this terminal. Terminal 3 is very close to the hotels in the Roissypole area.

Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport Car Rental

There are car rental offices at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. Car rental companies are located on the Arrivals level of each terminal. International companies such as Avis, Europcar, Hertz, and Sixt, as well as local car rental companies, operate at the terminal. Some companies are open 24 hours a day.

Car rental companies have offices on the 5th floor of Terminal 1. All major companies, such as Europcar, Sixt, Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Alamo, and Hertz, operate here. The companies are open from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Terminal 2 is U-shaped, so the car rental offices are centrally located. In Terminal 2, car rental companies are located in the “Espace Service” area. There is a huge “Car Rental” area between terminals 2D and 2F. Most car rental companies in this terminal are open 24 hours a day.

If you don’t want to wait at the car rental office when you arrive in Paris, I definitely recommend making an online reservation. The offices of major companies such as Avis, Hertz, Europcar, and Sixt are open 24 hours a day here. Write down the number of the parking lot where you will pick up your car on a piece of paper. Because the parking lot here is really huge.

Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport VIP Lounge

The VIP Lounges at Charles de Gaulle are truly impressive. There is a VIP Lounge in every terminal at the airport.

Terminal 1 has the Star Alliance Lounge, Extime Lounge, Lufthansa Airlines Lounge, and Qatar Airways Paris Premium Lounge. The Star Alliance Lounge is located on Level 7 and is open from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. The Extime Lounge is located on Level 7 and is open from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. The Lufthansa Airlines Lounge is located on Level 4 and is open from 05:00 to 21:45. The Qatar Airways Paris Premium Lounge is located on Level 11 and is open from 06:30 to 22:00.

There is a lounge in Terminal 2. There is an Extime Lounge in Terminals 2A, 2B, and 2D.

Terminal 2C has the Paris Lounge. Terminal 2E has the Air France Lounge on Levels 1, 2, and 3. Terminals 2F and 2G have Air France Lounges.

Terminal 3 has the Salon Paul Maxence Sports Bar.

All VIP Lounge areas have relaxation areas, snack buffets, beverages, and work desks. Some lounge areas offer hot meal service. Air France lounges are quite comfortable. If you have a connecting flight, you can wait for your flight here.

You are really lucky when it comes to finding a place to stay at Charles de Gaulle Airport. There are many hotels both inside the terminal and near the terminals.

The Sheraton Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport Hotel is located right inside Terminal 2. Yes, this hotel is inside the terminal. The Sheraton Hotel is between the 2E-F terminals and the 2A-B-C-D complex. You can walk to the hotel as soon as you get off the plane.

YOTELAIR Paris Charles de Gaulle is inside Terminal 2E. This hotel is in the airside area, after security.
