Lyon Saint Exupéry Airport Map

It would not be an exaggeration to call Lyon the gastronomic capital of France. This beautiful city is located between the Rhône and Saône rivers. The heart of the city, Vieux Lyon, is like an open-air museum with its narrow Renaissance streets, traboule passageways, and pastel-colored buildings. The Basilique Notre-Dame de Fourvière is one of the must-see landmarks, both for its architecture and the view of Lyon it offers. The city is also famous for its light festival. When I think of Lyon cuisine, traditional bouchon restaurants, quenelle, onion soup, and Beaujolais wines unique to the region come to mind. Lyon is a fascinating city that brings together history, scenery, and flavor at the same table.

Lyon Saint Exupéry Airport is located in the southeast of Lyon, in the commune of Colombier-Saugnieu. Don’t let the distance from the city scare you. Lyon is one of Europe’s most successful cities in terms of transportation networks. Approximately 10 million passengers use this airport annually.

From Lyon Airport, you can reach the Lyon Part-Dieu business district in just 30 minutes via the Rhônexpress tram. Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 are connected to each other by a high-speed train station. The Rhônexpress runs regularly every 15-30 minutes from 4:25 AM to midnight. There are also buses from the terminal to the city center. There are taxi stands in front of each terminal. Taxis operate 24 hours a day. The airport’s biggest advantage is its TGV connection. The Gare de Lyon Saint-Exupéry station is located in the same complex as the terminals. There are direct TGV connections to Paris, Marseille, and Turin.

There are two terminals at Lyon Airport. Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 are connected by the TGV link. This means you can walk between the two terminals without needing a shuttle.
