Los Angeles Airport is located in the Westchester neighborhood, close to the Pacific Ocean coast. You can reach this airport directly via the I-405 and I-105 highways. Los Angeles Airport is 16 miles from the city center. Depending on traffic conditions, it takes 25-45 minutes to reach the city center from the airport. Approximately 75 million passengers use this airport each year. Los Angeles Airport is the busiest airport on the West Coast of the United States.
Los Angeles Airport is 15 minutes from Santa Monica, 25 minutes from Beverly Hills, and approximately 35-40 minutes from Hollywood. There are regular FlyAway bus services from LAX to the city center. These buses run between the airport and Union Station and Van Nuys. The buses depart from Terminal 1 and stop at all terminals. You can find buses every hour. You can quickly reach the city center with this bus. The M Shuttle line provides free transportation between the terminals and the transit center where the metro lines are located.
If you want to use taxi and ride-sharing services such as Uber-Lyft, you need to go to a special waiting area called LAXit. You can reach this vehicle waiting area on foot from the terminals.

Los Angeles Airport Terminal
There are nine terminals at Los Angeles Airport. There are a total of 161 gates in the terminals. LAX has a U-shaped design. It is quite easy to move between terminals. You can walk from Terminal 1 to Terminal 8 without leaving the security area. However, keep in mind that this distance is two miles. If you don’t want to walk between terminals, you can take the Terminal Connector. This line circles counterclockwise around the Central Terminal Area, stopping at all terminals. Transfer passengers using this service must go through security again when they arrive at the new terminal.
Terminal 1 is located in the northwest corner of Los Angeles Airport. This terminal has 13 gates. This terminal is mainly used by Southwest Airlines.
Terminal 2 and Terminal 3: Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 are connected. These two terminals have 27 gates. These two terminals are directly connected to the Tom Bradley International Terminal via boarding bridges. Delta Airline flights use these two terminals.
Terminal 4 and Terminal 5 are the main hubs for American Airlines. The Admirals Club lounge is located on the upper level of Terminal 4.
Terminal 6 is used by Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines. The Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge and Alaska Lounge are located in this terminal.
Terminal 7 and Terminal 8 are the main terminals for United Airlines.
The Tom Bradley International Terminal is located between Terminals 3 and 4. This terminal is the hub for international flights. Emirates, Qantas, Air France, Virgin Atlantic, and many other major international airlines use this terminal for their flights. This terminal has a large duty-free area.
All terminals are connected to each other via walkways in the post-security area. There is also a free shuttle service operating 24 hours a day between terminals at the airport. There is a shuttle service between the terminals and the economy parking lot. If you are coming to the terminal from the long-term parking area, you can easily reach your desired terminal with the E Line shuttle.
Los Angeles Airport Car Rental
You need a car here to freely explore Los Angeles. As you know, California means endless roads and freedom. After renting your car at the airport, you can reach the famous Santa Monica Pier in just 15-20 minutes. I’m sure you’ll never forget the ocean-view journey you’ll take on the Pacific Coast Highway. You’ll feel like you’re in a movie as you tour the magnificent streets of Beverly Hills and travel from Santa Monica to Venice Beach. You can also easily reach places like the Griffith Observatory and the Getty Center, which are difficult to reach by public transportation.
There are no car rental company offices inside the terminals at Los Angeles Airport. All companies operate from a center just outside the airport. The AX Consolidated Rent-A-Car facility is located right next to the 405 freeway. You can reach the car rental center from the terminals via a free purple shuttle. You can board the shuttle from the arrivals exit of the terminals. The shuttle operates 24 hours a day.
AX Consolidated Rent-A-Car offers services from Alamo, Enterprise, National, Hertz, Dollar, Fox, Sixt, Thrifty, Budget, Zipcar, Avis, and Payless. You can find the type of vehicle you want here. All car rental companies operate at full fleet capacity. Most companies are open 24 hours a day. I recommend making your car rental reservation one month before your trip. This is a very busy airport. Demand for rental cars is very high throughout the year. To avoid being without a car when you arrive at the airport, complete your reservation online.
There are also car rental companies outside the terminal that offer airport shuttle services. You can board the shuttle bus of off-site companies from the economy parking area. Allied Rent A Car, Ace Rent A Car, Green Motion, Midway, Next Car of Los Angeles, NÜ Car Rentals, Priceless of Los Angeles, State Van Rental, U-Save Car & Truck Rental, and Zezgo Car Rental & Mex Car Rental operate outside the airport. You can rent a car online from any of these companies. Don’t forget to confirm your shuttle time when making your reservation.
Los Angeles Airport VIP Lounge
There are VIP Lounges in all terminals at Los Angeles Airport. Most VIP Lounges are located in the international terminal.
American Express The Centurion Lounge, Air France Lounge, Qantas First Class Lounge, Star Alliance Lounge, The Emirates Lounge, and Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse are located in the Tom Bradley International Terminal.
American Express Centurion Lounge is located near Gate 134. This lounge is open from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. The Qantas First Lounge is on Level 5. It is open from 6:30 a.m. until midnight. The Air France Lounge is located on the 6th floor of the West Gates section of the Tom Bradley Terminal. This lounge is open from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. The Emirates Lounge is near Gate 152.
The Delta One Lounge is located in the post-security area of Terminal 3. The Delta Lounge is open from 4:15 AM to 11:00 PM.
The American Airlines Admirals Club is located in Terminal 4, near Gate 41. This VIP Lounge is open from 4:30 AM to 1:00 AM. Another branch of the American Airlines Admirals Club is located on the mezzanine level of Terminal 5. This lounge is open from 4:30 AM to 11:30 PM.
The Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge is located in Terminal 6 between Gates 65A and 65B. This lounge is open from 5:30 AM to 10:30 PM. The Alaska Lounge is located near Gate 64 in Terminal 6. It is open between 5:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m.
The United Club is located near Gate 71A in Terminal 7, and the United Polaris Lounge is located next to Gate 73. Both lounges are open between 6:30 a.m. and 10:30 p.m.
