There are nine terminals at Los Angeles Airport. There are a total of 161 gates in the terminals. LAX has a U-shaped design. It is quite easy to move between terminals. You can walk from Terminal 1 to Terminal 8 without leaving the security area. However, keep in mind that this distance is two miles. If you don’t want to walk between terminals, you can take the Terminal Connector. This line circles counterclockwise around the Central Terminal Area, stopping at all terminals. Transfer passengers using this service must go through security again when they arrive at the new terminal.
Terminal 1 is located in the northwest corner of Los Angeles Airport. This terminal has 13 gates. This terminal is mainly used by Southwest Airlines.
