Grantley Adams International Airport is located in the Christ Church region. This airport is 13 km from downtown Bridgetown. It takes approximately 20-25 minutes to reach the city center from the airport. Grantley Adams International Airport is the island’s only international airport. All arrivals and departures to and from the island use this airport.

This is one of the favorite spots for diving enthusiasts. You’ll swim among turtles and tropical fish in the crystal-clear waters.
Cou-cou, made from cornmeal and okra, is served with grilled or steamed fish in a Bajan-spiced sauce. Don’t leave without trying this dish.
Direct flights are available from Grantley Adams International Airport to New York, London, Toronto, Miami, and Panama City. JetBlue, American Airlines, British Airways, Air Canada, Virgin Atlantic, and Copa Airlines operate flights from this airport. Approximately two million passengers use this airport each year.
When you exit the terminal building, you will see the taxi stand on your right and directional signs for the bus stop on your left. To get to the taxi stand, walk straight out the main exit. The taxi stands are located in front of the terminal. To take the bus, turn left at the exit and then left again at the intersection. After walking about 400 meters, you will reach the bus stop. From the bus stop, you can board a bus heading to the city center. The bus does not depart from the terminal. You must exit to the main road to board the bus.

Grantley Adams Airport has two interconnected terminal buildings. Separate terminals are used for Departures and Arrivals. The terminal building is single-story.
The Departures Terminal is the airport’s oldest terminal. The check-in counters are located in this section. Upon entering the airport, you will see a large check-in area. After passing through security and passport control, you can reach the Airlines Executive Lounge located between Gates 12 and 13. Gates 11-13 are in this terminal.
The Arrivals Terminal is the airport’s newest terminal. This section is used exclusively for arrivals. After disembarking the plane, you collect your luggage from the baggage carousels on the ground floor. You then proceed through Customs and Immigration. Car rental offices are located directly across from the baggage carousels. Food courts, duty-free shops, and a currency exchange office are accessible in both terminal sections.
The terminals are connected by an enclosed walkway. This means you do not need to go outside to change terminals.

Grantley Adams Airport Car Rental
Car rental offices are located inside the Arrivals Hall. After disembarking the plane, collecting your luggage, and passing through Immigration control, look to the left of the hall. Here you will see signs for offices such as Stoute’s Car Rental, Courtesy Rent-A-Car, and Drive-a-Matic. You can rent a car without leaving the terminal. A driver’s license, passport, and credit card are required for car rental. I recommend renting your car online before your trip. It can be difficult to find a car at the airport, especially during peak seasons.
Barbados is a small island. You can easily reach anywhere on the island by rental car. After exiting the airport, head toward ABC Highway. From there, turn left to go to the west coast or right to go to Harrison’s Cave or the east coast. The Foursquare Rum Distillery is just a 10 minute drive from the airport. Crane Beach is a 15 minute drive from the airport.
Grantley Adams Airport VIP Lounge
There is one VIP Lounge at Grantley Adams Airport. The Airlines Executive Lounge is located in the departures area. It is situated between Gates 12 and 13, after security and passport control. Simply follow the signs after passing through security.
The lounge is open daily from 11:30 AM to 8:30 PM. Inside the lounge, there are comfortable chairs, sofa areas for small groups, and a separate section for children. Sandwiches, salads, snacks, and both non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages are included in the price. You can enter the lounge by paying at the entrance. Priority Pass and Dragon Pass members do not need to pay.
