Toronto Pearson Airport is Canada’s largest airport. Located in Mississauga, Toronto Airport is approximately 25 kilometers from downtown Toronto.

There are UP Express trains, GO Transit, and bus lines from the airport to the city center. You can reach the city center in 25 minutes by UP Express train and 30-45 minutes by taxi. There are taxi and bus stops in front of the terminal. There is a large open parking area directly opposite the terminal.

There are two terminal buildings at the airport. Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 are the main terminals at the airport. Both terminals are used for domestic and international flights. You can easily find your way by looking at the Toronto Airport map below. Terminal 1 is heavily used by Air Canada and Star Alliance. Terminal 3 is used by Air North, Emirates, Etihad Airways, and other airlines.

Baggage, security, and connection times at the airport are significantly longer during peak season. You should arrive earlier for check-in and security procedures for connecting flights.

Toronto Pearson Airport Terminals

There are two main terminals serving Toronto Pearson Airport: Terminal 1 and Terminal 3.

Toronto Pearson Airport Terminal 1

Terminal 1 is the airport’s largest and most modern terminal. This terminal opened in 2004. Terminal 1 is the main hub for Air Canada and Star Alliance partners. There are three passenger lounges in the terminal: D, E, and F. The D passenger lounge is used for domestic flights. The E passenger lounge is reserved for international flights. The F passenger lounge is used for flights to the United States.

Customs and passport control are located on the arrivals level. After check-in and security checks, you will enter the main area with restaurants and shops. There is a large duty-free area in the terminal. There are restaurants, cafes, and shops in the terminal. There are a total of eight VIP lounges in the terminal. There is an open parking area directly opposite the terminal. There is also an 8-story indoor parking garage connected to the terminal. The terminals also have free Wi-Fi, charging stations, and children’s play areas.

Toronto Pearson Airport Terminal 3

Terminal 3 is one of the airport’s oldest terminals. This terminal opened in 1991. Terminal 3 has three passenger halls: A, B, and C. Passenger hall A is used for flights to the United States. Passenger halls B and C are connected to each other. These halls are used for domestic and international flights.

There are 5 VIP Lounges in the terminal. There is a large open parking area directly opposite the terminal. There is a covered parking area located near the terminal. The Sheraton Hotel is directly opposite Terminal 3.

A free train service operates between the two terminals.

Toronto Pearson Airport Car Rental

Car rental companies have offices in both terminals of Toronto Airport. In Terminal 1, international companies such as Enterprise, Avis, Budget, Hertz, National, and Alamo provide services on the ground floor. In Terminal 3, the same companies are located on the arrivals level. Car rental companies operating outside the terminal meet their customers at the terminal free of charge. Car rental companies have free shuttle services waiting at Viscount Station. You can easily reach here with the Terminal Link trains.

You can complete your car rental procedures when you arrive at the airport. If you don’t want to waste time at the airport, you can complete your car rental procedures online. This will also speed up your procedures at the terminal. In addition, prices are more affordable for online reservations. Your driver’s license, passport, and credit card are sufficient to pick up your car.

Toronto Pearson Airport VIP Lounge

There are 13 VIP lounges at Toronto Airport. Most of the VIP Lounges are in Terminal 1. There are 8 VIP Lounges in Terminal 1. Terminal 1 has the Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge, Air Canada Maple Leaf Express, Air Canada Signature Suite, and Plaza Premium Lounge. There are 5 VIP Lounges in Terminal 3. The Plaza Premium Lounge, Air France/KLM Lounge, and American Airlines Admirals Club serve Terminal 3.

The lounges offer unlimited food and beverage buffets, alcoholic beverages, fast Wi-Fi, shower facilities, comfortable seating, and quiet work areas. I particularly prefer the Air Canada Signature Suite in Terminal 1 for long layovers. Some lounges offer hot meal service. You can access some lounges for free only with your business class ticket or certain credit cards. During busy times, the lounge capacity fills up quickly.

Hotels in Toronto Pearson International Airport

There is one hotel right inside Toronto Airport. The Sheraton Gateway is directly connected to Terminal 3 by a pedestrian bridge. If you have a very early flight or arrive at the airport very late, you can stay at the Sheraton Hotel. You can reach the Sheraton Hotel on foot in a very short time.

There are chain hotels such as Hilton, Crowne Plaza, and Holiday Inn located near the airport. These hotels offer a free shuttle service. You must specify your shuttle request when making a reservation. International chain hotels pick up their guests from the airport in 5-10 minutes with their free shuttle service. Be sure to check the shuttle service hours when making hotel reservations. Most hotels’ shuttle services operate 24 hours a day.
