Ottawa Airport is an international airport located in Canada’s capital. Ottawa Airport is located approximately 15 kilometers south of the city center.

Ottawa is the capital of Canada. You can explore this city in a short time. As you wander among historic buildings, green corridors, and local cafes, you immediately escape the hustle and bustle of the big city. The most iconic site is, of course, Parliament Hill. With its changing of the guard ceremony throughout the day and neoclassical buildings, Parliament Hill is the city’s most famous landmark. If you enjoy visiting museums, you should definitely stop by the Canadian Museum of History and the National Gallery of Canada. You can take a morning walk along the Rideau Canal. Every traveler will find a unique activity in this welcoming city.
Flying to a country’s capital is always exciting. It is Canada’s sixth busiest airport. Ottawa Airport is an important hub for Porter Airlines, Air Canada, and Air Transat. Both domestic and international flights are available from this airport.
Getting from Ottawa Airport to the city center is quite easy. The airport is already quite close to the city center. You can see all licensed transportation vehicles as soon as you exit the terminal. If you want to use public transportation, you can go to the city center with the 105 bus line, which operates 24 hours a day. You can also go to the city center at a reasonable price with the O-Train, which departs from Airport Station connected to the terminal. Taxi stands are also located just outside the terminal. The journey to the city center by taxi takes 20-25 minutes.
Ottawa Airport has a single terminal. The same terminal is used for both international and domestic flights. There are parking areas at the front of the terminal.

Ottawa Airport Terminals
Ottawa Airport has one terminal. The terminal has separate sections for domestic, transborder, and international operations. The terminal has three levels. Level 1 is for arrivals. This is the first area you encounter when you get off your plane. Baggage claim carousels, customs controls, and terminal exit gates are located here. Car rental offices operate on this level.
Level 2 is the busiest level of the terminal. Check-in counters, airline offices, and security checkpoints are located on this level. After passing through security, there is a spacious waiting lounge, restaurants, cafes, and shops for domestic and international passengers.
Level 3 is a level dedicated to lounges. The Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge is located on this level.
The terminal has free Wi-Fi and charging stations. Inside the airport, there are information points, baggage cart stations, elevators, and ramps for barrier-free access. Food and beverage outlets and small shops are available on both the arrivals and departures levels.
Ottawa Airport Car Rental
If you want to explore Ottawa’s magnificent nature, the winding roads of Gatineau Park, and the shores of the St. Lawrence River, you should rent a car as soon as you land at the airport. All car rental companies except Routes have offices inside the terminal. International companies such as Hertz, Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz, National, Alamo, and Europcar operate in the terminal. Car rental company offices are located near baggage claim.
After completing your rental formalities, you can pick up your vehicle. Rental cars are located in the parking garage. After exiting the terminal, it is a 2-3 minute walk to the parking area.
Most companies operate between 7:00 a.m. and 1:00 a.m.
I strongly recommend making an online reservation in advance. This way, you can pick up your car immediately without wasting time at the airport. With an early reservation, you can rent your car at a more affordable price. All you need to rent a car is your passport, driver’s license, and credit card.
With a car rented from the airport, you can take day trips to Gatineau, Wakefield, the Canadian Parliament area, and the Quebec region. Don’t forget to add the wine routes to your itinerary.

There are two VIP lounges at Ottawa Airport. Both lounges are located in the post-security area, near gates 18-20.
The Aspire Lounge is open to all passengers. This lounge is located in the post-security area near Gate 18. The Aspire Lounge

It is open Monday-Friday from 5:00 AM to 8:00 PM and weekends from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
The Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge is open to Air Canada customers and Star Alliance Gold cardholders. This lounge is located directly opposite the Aspire Lounge. It is open from 4:30 AM to 8:00 PM. Operating hours may vary depending on flight traffic.
Here, food and beverages are self-service. Each seat has a charging station.
