Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport (AZA) is located approximately 20 miles (32 km) southeast of Mesa, Arizona, in the United States. The airport is located in the eastern part of Phoenix and covers an area of 3,020 acres.

Mesa Airport has three long parallel runways. These runways are suitable for wide-body aircraft. The Charles L. Williams Terminal Building was designed specifically for low-cost carriers. The terminal building has more than 10 boarding gates. Mesa Gateway Airport offers direct flights to many cities in the central and western United States and some Canadian cities (seasonal). The airport is an alternative to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. It is particularly popular with leisure travelers.
Mesa Airport – terminal and gate map
Mesa Airport has a single terminal building. The name of this terminal building is Charles L. Williams Terminal Building. The terminal consists of two areas.
West Terminal: Check-in counters, baggage claim area, and car rental offices are located in this section. Arriving passengers use this area.
East Terminal / Gate Area: This area, accessed after the security checkpoint (TSA checkpoint), includes boarding gates (Gates 1-12+), waiting lounges, and food and shopping venues. Departing passengers board their flights from this area. Free Wi-Fi access, digital flight information screens, ATMs, baby care rooms, and seating areas are available throughout the terminal.
Car Rental at the airport
Car rental offices at Mesa Gateway Airport are located in a dedicated Rental Car Center at 6033 S Sossaman Rd STE 104, directly across from the baggage claim area of the terminal building. After collecting your luggage, you can reach the center with a short walk from the terminal exit. Some companies also offer shuttle service to the terminal. You can reach Alamo and National rental counters at 1-844-370-9819 and 1-844-370-9820, and Avis and Budget at 480-448-2721 and 480-448-2722. Enterprise can be reached at 1-844-370-9818, while Hertz, Dollar, and Thrifty can be reached at 480-960-8338. After completing your rental at this center, you can pick up your vehicle from the parking lot within the same facility.
Car rental offices are generally open seven days a week, from early in the morning (at least two hours before flight departure) until the arrival of the last flight.
Find transportation from the airport – bus, taxi rental cars
Bus: Valley Metro, the Phoenix Metropolitan Area’s public transportation network, operates route 184 (Power Road) to the stop in front of the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport terminal building. Buses run daily from 4:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on weekdays and from 5:15 a.m. to 8:15 p.m. on weekends. The frequency is every 30 minutes on weekdays and every 60 minutes on weekends. A one-way ticket costs $2.
Taxi & Rideshare: Taxis are available at designated areas at the arrivals exit of the terminal building. In addition, ride-sharing apps such as Uber and Lyft are actively serving Mesa Gateway Airport.
Hotel Shuttle: Country Inn and Suites, Courtyard by Marriott Phoenix Mesa Gateway Airport, Four Points by Sheraton at Phoenix Mesa Gateway Airport, Hampton Inn and Suites Phoenix/Gilbert, and Residence Inn Phoenix/Gilbert offer free shuttle service to their guests.

Smoking Areas
Smoking, including electronic cigarettes, is strictly prohibited in all enclosed areas of the terminal building. Passengers who wish to smoke must exit the terminal building and use the designated outdoor smoking areas located a certain distance from the arrivals (lower level) and departures (upper level) exits. These areas are clearly marked and easy to find.

There are ATMs inside the terminal, in the pre-security and post-security areas.

Parking Areas
The closest parking to the terminal building at Mesa Gateway Airport is the Hourly Parking Lot just west of the Charles L. Williams Terminal. This is a short-term parking area. The first 30 minutes are $1 USD. Each additional 30 minutes is $1 USD. For daily parking, you can use the Daily Lot located south of the terminal building. The parking fee is $1 USD for 30 minutes and a maximum of $13 USD per day.
If you are looking for a more economical option, you can park your car at the Economy Lot, located approximately 2 miles (3.2 km) from the terminal. The open parking fee is $9 USD per day, and the covered parking fee is $11 USD per day. There is a free shuttle from the parking lot to the terminal. The shuttle service begins at least 2 hours before the first flight departure time. Shuttle service hours are adjusted according to flight schedules.
Drivers waiting to pick up arriving passengers can use the Cell Phone Lot on South Sossaman Road. This parking lot is free and is for drop-off and waiting purposes only. Long-term parking is prohibited.
All parking areas have disabled parking spaces. These spaces are located next to the shuttle stops or closest to the terminal entrance. Payments can be made by credit/debit card or cash at the machines. All parking spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
