The Luton DART automated rail system takes approximately 5 minutes to reach Luton Airport Parkway Station from the terminal building. From there, you can reach London St Pancras in 30 minutes via Thameslink trains. Bus companies also operate services from the terminal. National Express and easyBus operate regular services from the Ground Transport Hub in front of the terminal. These buses take you to London city center in 50-60 minutes. There is also a taxi rank in front of the terminal. Taxis operate 24 hours a day.

London Luton Airport Terminals

Luton Airport has a single terminal. The same terminal is used for all check-in, security checks, and departures. The terminal building has two floors. The ground floor is reserved for arrivals. On the ground floor, there are 62 check-in desks, a security control hall, and baggage claim. After the security control area, there are stairs leading to the departures hall on the upper floor. On the upper floor, there are shops, restaurants, and cafes. There are 30 gates on the upper floor.

The terminal has separate areas serving different airlines. A separate area in the terminal is used for international flights. In the pre-security area of the terminal, there is a bookstore, shops, currency exchange offices, and a baggage wrapping service. After security, there are dining options such as Burger King, Starbucks, Pret A Manger, and Frankie & Benny’s, as well as duty-free shopping areas. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the terminal. Baby care rooms and facilities for disabled passengers are available in the terminal.

London Luton Airport Car Hire

There are car rental offices at London Luton Airport. The rental offices are not located inside the terminal building. The companies operate from the Car Hire Centre building, which is located close to the terminal building. There is a regular shuttle service from the Bay C stop at the terminal exit to the car rental center. The shuttle runs every 10-15 minutes. You can reach the car rental center after a short 5-10 minute journey.

The car rental center has counters for Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, Enterprise, National, and Alamo. You can make your car reservation online before your trip. This allows you to choose the most suitable vehicle and rent it at a more affordable price. A valid driver’s license, passport, and credit card are required at the time of rental.

It takes about 1 hour to reach central London by car. However, keep in mind that London traffic is very heavy and chaotic. Finding parking in the city center is very difficult. You can also reach Milton Keynes, Oxford, and Cambridge quickly by car. The M1 motorway starts at the airport and extends south towards London. Traffic is particularly heavy between 7:00 AM and 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM.

You don’t have to spend hours waiting in a crowded environment and on a chair before your flight. There are two VIP Lounges at Luton Airport: My Lounge and No1 Lounge.

My Lounge is located in the main hall after security control and duty-free shops. It is open from 04:00 in the morning until 21:00 in the evening. This lounge offers guests free Wi-Fi, workstations, private cabins, air conditioning, TV, newspapers and magazines, and an extensive food and beverage menu. The maximum stay is 3 hours. It is free for Priority Pass, LoungeKey, and DragonPass members. You can access the lounge area with online advance reservations or by walking in.

No1 Lounge has a slightly more boutique and sophisticated atmosphere. This lounge stands out with its freshly prepared hot meals and wide selection of beverages. Making your reservation online in advance guarantees you a seat and a more advantageous price. The lounge capacity is often full, especially during busy travel periods. No1 Lounge is located in the main terminal after passing through security. The lounge is next to gate 17.

Hotels in London Luton International Airport

There is no hotel connected to the terminal building at Luton Airport. However, there are hotels very close to the terminal. The closest hotel to the terminal is the Holiday Inn Express Luton Airport. You can reach this hotel in about a 5-10 minute walk. Breakfast is included in the price.

Ibis London Luton Airport is also about a 10-minute walk from the terminal. Accommodation prices are also quite affordable. If you are looking for more comfortable accommodation, you can book a room at Courtyard by Marriott Luton Airport and Holiday Inn Luton Airport. Premier Inn Luton Airport and Hampton by Hilton Luton are located a little further from the terminal. Some hotels located near the airport offer a free shuttle service.
