Grand Junction Regional Airport (GJT) is located approximately 4 miles (6.5 km) northeast of downtown Grand Junction, Colorado. It is an important transportation hub for western Colorado and eastern Utah.

Opened in 1930 as Walker Field, this airport is the largest commercial airport in western Colorado. It is a key airport providing access to natural attractions such as the Colorado National Monument, world-renowned ski resorts, and the region’s rich agricultural areas. The airport is operated by the Grand Junction Regional Airport Authority. Serving hundreds of thousands of passengers each year, GJT plays an important role in the region’s economic and tourist vitality. The airport has two runways and a terminal building.

Grand Junction Airport has a single terminal building that serves passengers. This compact and user-friendly terminal has a total of six boarding gates. The terminal offers basic passenger services for the comfort of passengers, including digital flight information screens, free Wi-Fi access, comfortable waiting lounges, a gift shop, and food and beverage areas.
Arrivals: The arrivals area of the terminal includes baggage claim, passenger pick-up points, car rental counters, and ground transportation stops. The arrivals area is located on the ground floor.
Departures: The upper level of the terminal houses check-in counters, TSA security checkpoints, and waiting areas leading to the boarding gates. Food, beverage, and shopping facilities are also located in this section.
Parking Areas
The airport parking lot is operated by REpublic Parking.
Short Term Parking: This parking lot is located closest to the terminal. The first 2 hours are free. Fee: Hourly rate is USD 2, with a maximum daily rate of USD 14.
Long Term Parking: This parking area is reserved for longer trips. It is within walking distance of the terminal. There are open and covered parking areas. The daily fee for open parking is 10 USD. The daily fee for the multi-story parking area is 14 USD.
Cell Phone Waiting Lot: This is an area where drivers waiting to pick up arriving passengers can park for free for up to 60 minutes, a few minutes away from the terminal.
All parking areas have designated parking spaces for disabled individuals, located closest to the terminal entrances. You can pay with Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover credit cards in the parking lots.
Car Rental at the airport
Inside the terminal building, right next to the baggage claim area, you will find counters for major national car rental companies. You can rent a car from companies such as Alamo, Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz, and National. Rented cars are picked up from a private parking area adjacent to the terminal building.
Car rental offices are open seven days a week, in accordance with the airport’s flight schedule.

GVT (Grand Valley Transit): Bus route 1 runs regularly between the airport and Grand Junction city center and other important locations. The bus stop is located near the terminal exit. Buses run to the airport every hour. The bus operates from 5:15 a.m. to 7:15 p.m. on weekdays and from 7:15 a.m. to 7:15 p.m. on Saturdays.
Taxis and Rideshare: Taxis are available at the terminal exit. Shared ride services such as Uber and Lyft also pick up passengers from designated areas at the airport.
Shuttle Services: Private transfer companies in the area offer shuttle service between the airport and accommodations or nearby areas with advance reservations. Shuttle service providers include Grand Valley Transit, Sunshine Rides, Telluride Express, and Moab Express.

There are three locations operated by Tailwind Concessions in the terminal:
Tailwind Restaurant & Bar (Post-Security): Located near the boarding gates after security, this restaurant offers hot meals, sandwiches, salads, snacks, and a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. It opens at 5:30 a.m. and remains open until the last flight.
Coffee & Grab-and-Go Kiosk (Pre-Security): Located in the public area of the terminal, near the check-in counters, this location sells a variety of coffees, teas, packaged sandwiches, salads, and quick snacks. It is open from 9:00 a.m. until the last flight.
Shopping at Airport
Tailwind Gift Shop (Post-Security): After passing through security, passengers can find a store offering Colorado and Grand Junction-themed souvenirs, books, magazines, travel accessories, and snacks to meet their last-minute needs. Opening hours: 5:30 a.m., closing time: last flight.
