Pensacola International Airport (IATA: PNS) is located in Pensacola, a bustling city in the Florida Panhandle region at the westernmost tip of the state of Florida, United States.

It is located approximately 3 miles (5 km) northeast of downtown Pensacola, within the boundaries of Escambia County. This airport serves more than three million passengers annually.

Pensacola International Airport – terminal and gate map

Pensacola International Airport has one terminal. The terminal building was completely renovated in the 1990s. This two-story terminal serves both domestic and a limited number of international (usually private or charter) flights.

The lower level (ground floor) of the terminal has baggage claim areas, car rental counters, and some airline ticket offices. The upper level has check-in counters, TSA security checkpoints, and the main passenger concourse with 12 boarding gates (Gates 1-12). This concourse is L-shaped. All gates are accessible through a single security checkpoint. Major national and low-cost airlines such as American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, Southwest Airlines, Spirit Airlines, and Frontier Airlines operate at the airport. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the airport.

Parking Areas

There are four parking areas at Pensacola Airport.

Garage Parking: A multi-story indoor parking garage located directly across from the terminal building. It is suitable for both short-term (hourly) and long-term (daily) parking. The parking garage is directly connected to the terminal via a covered pedestrian bridge. Fee: $2 per hour, maximum $13 per day.

Surface Lot Parking: This is an open parking area located directly behind the covered parking lot. Prices are slightly lower than the covered parking lot. It is a short walk from the terminal. Fee: $2 per hour, maximum $11 per day.

Economy Lots (Lots 1-3): Parking area within walking distance of the terminal. The terminal is a short distance away. The first 60 minutes are free. There is a free shuttle between the parking lot and the terminal at specific times. Fee: $2 per hour, maximum $9 per day. Lot 1 is also used as a Cell Phone Waiting Lot.

Flat Rate Lot: This parking area is located north of the terminal. It is far from the terminal. It operates on a flat rate. Fee: 40 USD for up to 30 days.

Electric vehicle charging stations are available in certain parking areas. All parking lots have parking spaces reserved for disabled passengers, located near the terminal entrances. All parking lots accept credit cards and cash.

Car Rental at the airport

Renting a car at Pensacola Airport is extremely convenient. Car rental company counters are located on the ground floor of the terminal building, directly opposite the baggage claim area. Arriving passengers can rent their cars immediately after collecting their luggage. Many well-known national car rental companies, such as Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National, Payless, and Thrifty, offer their services here. You can pick up your rental car from the parking lot adjacent to the terminal building. Most companies’ offices are open every day of the week. Office hours vary depending on flight schedules.

Find transportation from the airport – bus, taxi ,shuttles

Bus (Escambia County Area Transit – ECAT): Route 52 stops at the airport. This bus is a 20-minute route that transports passengers between the airport and the Ecat Transfer Station (downtown).

Shuttle Services: Various private shuttle companies offer shared or private transfer services to Pensacola and surrounding areas (such as Pensacola Beach, Perdido Key, Gulf Shores/Orange Beach-AL), hotels, and other important locations.

Taxi: There are taxi stands at the terminal exit. Licensed taxis operate according to the flight schedule.

Shared Rides (Uber/Lyft): Designated pickup points (Rideshare Pickup Zones) are available outside the terminal for app-based ride services such as Uber and Lyft.

Lost & Found

If you lose an item in the terminal building, security checkpoints, or parking lots, you should contact the PNS Airport Lost and Found Office. You can call (850) 436-5000 or fill out the Lost & Found form on the website.

There are restaurants and cafes in both the pre-security and post-security areas of Pensacola Airport.

Pre-Security – Upper Level:
Einstein Bros. Bagels: A popular choice for coffee, bagels, and breakfast sandwiches.

Post-Security:

Chick-fil-A: A popular fast-food chain known for its chicken sandwiches and menu options.
Pensacola Beach House: A full-service bar and restaurant reflecting the local Pensacola theme. The menu features seafood, sandwiches, salads, and a variety of beverages.
Starbucks: Offers coffee, tea, and a variety of snacks.
Vino Volo: A wine bar concept. Serves fine wines, cheese plates, and small bites.
Varona’s Pensacola Cafe: A spot serving Cuban-inspired sandwiches and coffee.
There are also coffee and snack vending machines throughout the terminal.

Shopping at Airport

There are shops at Pensacola Airport where you can meet your pre- or post-flight needs and find local souvenirs.

Paradise Lagardiere Travel Retail: Here you can find books, magazines, newspapers, snacks, beverages, travel essentials, electronic accessories, and Pensacola, Florida, and maritime-themed souvenirs, apparel, and local products.

CNBC SmartShop: A store offering news and travel-focused products.

Hotels at Pensacola International Airport

Hyatt Place Pensacola Airport: Located directly across from the airport terminal. The hotel is within walking distance. A free 24-hour airport shuttle service is available upon request.

Hampton Inn Pensacola–Airport: Located 0.3 miles from the airport. Shuttle service is available from 4:00 a.m. to midnight.

Hilton Garden Inn Pensacola Airport/Medical Center: Located 1 mile from the airport. Free airport shuttle service is available from 4:00 AM to midnight.

Residence Inn by Marriott Pensacola Airport/Medical Center: Located 1.5 miles from the airport. Shuttle service is available from 4:00 AM to 11:00 PM.

Pensacola International Airport Flights and Airlines

Pensacola Airport is an important hub for domestic passenger traffic. Southwest Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and United Express operate regular flights from this airport. There are regular flights from the airport to hubs such as Charlotte, Atlanta, Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston, and Chicago. Additionally, low-cost carriers such as Spirit Airlines and Frontier Airlines also operate on certain routes.

There are direct flights from the airport to many major cities in the United States. Flights are generally busier during tourist seasons and local events.
