Southwest Florida International Airport has one terminal building. There are two concourses (A and B) within the single terminal building. The terminal reflects the relaxed atmosphere of the region with its modern architecture and tropical landscaping.

The terminal building houses all essential passenger services under one roof, from check-in counters to baggage claim areas, TSA security checkpoints, and ground transportation connections. In addition, the terminal offers a variety of dining and shopping options where passengers can enjoy themselves before or after their flights.

The terminal building has two floors.

Ground Floor (Arrivals/Baggage Claim): This floor is where arriving passengers can collect their luggage, reach car rental counters, and head to the outside taxi, bus, or private vehicle waiting areas.

First Floor (Departures/Check-in & Security): This floor houses airline check-in counters, ticket counters, and the central TSA security checkpoint. Beyond security, Concourse A (Gates 1–12) and Concourse B (Gates 15–28) are located. Each concourse hosts boarding gates for specific airlines. Inside the concourses, there are various restaurants, cafes, bars, shops, and comfortable waiting areas.

Parking Areas

Southwest Florida International Airport has parking areas where passengers can park their vehicles.

Short-Term Parking: A multi-story, enclosed parking area directly connected to the terminal building. It is ideal for short-term parking needs, such as picking up or dropping off passengers. The first 20 minutes are usually free. Fee: $3 per hour and a maximum of $18 per day.

Long-Term Parking Lot: An open parking area located within walking distance of the terminal. Suitable for trips lasting several days or longer, it has a fixed daily rate. Fee: $11 per day. Free shuttle buses operate continuously between the terminal and this parking lot.

Cell Phone Lot: A special waiting area located near the terminal for drivers who want to wait for passengers arriving at the airport without leaving their vehicles. You can wait here for 60 minutes.

All parking areas have special parking spaces for disabled individuals located near the terminal entrances. Payments are made by credit card.

Car Rental at the airport

Renting a car at Southwest Florida International Airport is quite easy. Car rental companies’ offices are located under the Rental Car Building next to the terminal. Many well-known companies in the industry, such as Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz, National, Alamo, Dollar, and Thrifty, offer their services here. After completing your rental, you can pick up your vehicle from the parking lot of this building. The rental offices are within walking distance of the terminal. Most companies’ offices operate in parallel with flight schedules.

Find transportation from the airport – bus, taxi ,shuttles

Bus (LeeTran): Lee County’s public transportation system, LeeTran, operates bus route 50 to the airport. This bus connects the airport to Fort Myers city center (Rosa Parks Transportation Center), beach areas, and other important locations in the surrounding area. The Airport Connector and Route 120 are the most popular routes among passengers. You can board the bus at the stop in front of the terminal. A one-way fare is usually between $1 and $2.
Taxis: Taxi stands are located at the arrivals exit of the terminal building. Fares are metered. Taxis are available 24 hours a day.

Shared Rides (Uber/Lyft): There are designated pickup and drop-off points (Rideshare Pickup Zones) for app-based ride-sharing services such as Uber and Lyft on the arrivals level of the terminal.

Shared Ride Shuttles: Some private shuttle companies offer shared or private transfer services to nearby cities, hotels, and residential areas such as Naples, Marco Island, and Cape Coral, subject to advance reservation.

VIP Lounge at Southwest Florida International Airport

There is one VIP Lounge area at Southwest Florida Airport.

Airssist Executive Lounge: This executive lounge area is accessible through airssist at RSW. As an alternative to the waiting areas, this private lounge, located inside the terminal building, offers passengers comfortable seating and refreshments. Food and beverage service is available. Advance reservations are required to use this lounge area.

Lost & Found

If you lose an item in the general areas of the airport, such as the terminal building, security checkpoints, or parking lots, you should contact the RSW Airport Lost & Found Office. The Lost & Found Office is located on the ground floor of the terminal, near the baggage claim area. Operating hours are Tuesday–Saturday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Restaurants at Southwest Florida International Airport

Southwest Florida Airport has food and beverage outlets such as Starbucks, Tropical Smoothie, Auntie Anne’s, and Freshens in Concourses A and B. There are also places offering local flavors such as Sunshine State Brewing and PROTEA Thai. Both breakfast and hot snack options are available.

Pre-Security: Starbucks, Great American Bagel, Sbarro Pizza.
Concourse A: Starbucks, PGA Tour Grill, Casa Bacardi (bar), Dylan’s Candy Bar.
Concourse B: Shula’s Bar & Grill, Starbucks, Beaches Boardwalk Cafe, Dewar’s Clubhouse (bar and restaurant), Great American Bagel.

There are also various bars, quick-service restaurants, sandwich shops, and buffets where you can purchase packaged items throughout the terminals. Hours of operation vary depending on flight traffic and season.

Shopping at Airport

At RSW, there are shops where you can find everything you need for your trip and last-minute gifts.

Coastal Expressions, Brighton Collectibles, Sanibel Marketplace: Books, magazines, newspapers, snacks, beverages, travel supplies, electronic accessories, locally themed souvenirs (Southwest Florida, beach and seashell-themed products), clothing, and accessories are available.
PGA Tour Shop: Licensed products for golf enthusiasts are available.

Comfort Zone Spa: Offers quick massages and spa services.

Shops are generally concentrated in the security-after (airside) concourse areas and the main hall.

Duty Free

Southwest Florida International Airport has a small “Duty-Free” store, especially during periods of international flights and near the gates where these flights operate. However, there is no large, fully-equipped duty-free store at the airport. Hudson News / News & Gifts operates a Duty-Free section in Concourse B according to international flight schedules.

Holiday Inn Express & Suites Fort Myers Airport: Located 3 miles from the airport. A free shuttle service is available for guests between the airport and the hotel from 4:30 a.m. to midnight.

Hampton Inn & Suites Fort Myers-Airport: Located 3 miles from the airport. Free shuttle service is available 24/7.
Candlewood Suites Fort Myers Airport: Located 2.5 miles from the airport. 24-hour shuttle service is available. This hotel is ideal for long stays. It offers fully equipped kitchen suites.

Best Western Airport Inn: Located 2 miles from the airport. Free airport shuttle service is available.

RSW is one of the busiest airports in the state of Florida. Millions of passengers use this airport every year. This airport serves as a gateway to popular destinations in Southwest Florida, such as Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Sanibel Island, and Naples.

Southwest Florida International Airport is an important hub for major national carriers such as Southwest Airlines, Delta Air Lines, JetBlue, American Airlines, and United Airlines.
