Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport is located approximately 26 kilometers north of the city center. You can reach the airport from the city center in about 20-30 minutes via the A2 Highway. This airport is approximately 10 kilometers from the city of Kranj. It is Slovenia’s busiest airport, serving approximately 1.5 million passengers annually.

Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport Terminal
Ljubljana Airport has two interconnected terminals. These terminals are located within a single building. The terminal building has three floors. The ground floor of the terminal is the arrivals level. This area features baggage carousels, customs control, and the exit gate. The ground floor also houses a tourist information desk, a lost baggage office, and transportation information points. As you exit the terminal, you will immediately see the taxi stand. The bus stop is located on the left side of the building.
The first floor of the terminal has 22 check-in counters. An information and assistance desk is located right next to the check-in counters. This floor has five security screening lanes.
Gates are divided into two categories: Schengen and non-Schengen. A duty-free shop, cafes, snack stands, and Shop Ljubljanček which sells local Slovenian products are located in the post-security area. A currency exchange office and bank ATMs are available on this floor.
The terminal’s second floor features a cafeteria and an observation deck overlooking the runways.
Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport Car Rental
Car rental offices at Ljubljana Airport are located in two areas. Most car rental companies are situated on the ground floor of the multi-story parking garage directly across from the terminal building. There are also car rental offices in the arrivals area of Terminal B.
At Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport, there are offices for AdriaCar, Agio, Alamo, Atet, AutoUnion, AvantCar, Carwiz, Dollar, Enterprise, Europcar, Flizzr, FREE2RENT, Greenmotion, Hertz, National, Goldcar, Sixt, Avis, Thrifty, and Budget. Exit the terminal’s arrivals hall and cross the street. The parking lot is right across from the terminal. The Europcar and Hertz counters are located in the terminal’s arrivals hall. Green Motion, however, operates from the departures hall inside the terminal.
After completing your car rental procedures, you can pick up your vehicle from the same parking area. You can rent your car online before your trip. This way, you can rent your car at a more affordable price.
Slovenia’s unique natural beauty lies hidden in villages and mountain roads that are difficult to reach by public transportation. Leave the airport, and after about 50 kilometers, you’ll reach Lake Bled. The journey takes 35–40 minutes. You’ll experience a breathtaking drive as you pass through Bled Island and the Karavanke Mountains surrounding the lake. You can also visit Triglav National Park by car.
Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport VIP Lounge
There is only one lounge at Ljubljana Airport: the Business Lounge. The Business Lounge is located on the first floor after passing through security. You must check in at the information desk before entering the lounge area.
