Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International Airport (IATA: FLL) is an airport located in Broward County, Florida, United States, right between the cities of Fort Lauderdale and Hollywood.

This massive airport serves as one of the main gateways to South Florida’s turquoise waters, vibrant nightlife, and international trade hubs. It is located approximately 3 miles (5 km) southwest of Fort Lauderdale’s city center and about 2 miles (3 km) north of Hollywood. With more than 35 million passengers in 2024, it is the second busiest airport in the Miami metropolitan area.

Terminal 1: Gates A1-A11, B1-B9, and C1-C9

Terminal 1 handles both domestic and international flights. It is used by airlines such as Southwest Airlines, Allegiant Air, and Spirit Airlines, as well as some international flights. It stands out with its modernized areas and various amenities. Air Canada (YQB Only), Alaska, Allegiant, Bahamasair, Copa, Frontier, Silver, Southwest, United, and Western Air use this terminal.

Terminal 2: Gates D1-D9
Terminal 2 is used by airlines operating international flights and charter flights. Air Canada, Delta, and WestJet use this terminal.

Terminal 3: Gates E1-E10 and F1-F7
Terminal 3 is primarily used for domestic flights. It is the main hub for JetBlue and also serves American Airlines and other domestic and international airlines. It features extensive dining and shopping areas. It is used by American Airlines, Avelo, Azul, BermudAir, EL AL, Flair, JetBlue, and Sun Country.

Terminal 4: Gates G10-G14 and H4-H10
Terminal 4 is used for international flights. It primarily serves Spirit Airlines’ international and some domestic flights, as well as other international carriers. It has a modern terminal for international arrivals. Air Transat, Avianca, Caribbean, Flair, Porter, and Spirit use this terminal.

All terminals have check-in counters, baggage claim carousels, TSA security checkpoints, ground transportation connections, a wide range of dining options, and various shopping stores. Free shuttle buses run regularly between terminals and from terminals to parking lots/car rental centers. In addition, some terminals are connected by pedestrian bridges or walkways. Free Wi-Fi internet access is available throughout the airport.

Parking Areas

Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport has extensive parking facilities.

Terminal Garages (Hibiscus, Palm, Cypress Garages): These are multi-story indoor parking garages located directly or within a short walking distance from each terminal. They are ideal for both short-term (hourly) and long-term (daily) parking. Hourly rates start at approximately 2-3 USD, with daily maximum rates ranging from 15-36 USD (depending on the garage).

Economy Parking Lot: An open-air parking area located slightly further from the terminal buildings, offering more affordable rates. Regular and free shuttle bus services are available from this parking lot to the terminals. This is the most economical option, especially for long-term stays. The daily rate is 8 USD.

Valet Parking: A more comfortable and faster parking option available on the departure level of certain terminals. The daily fee is 30 USD.

Cell Phone Waiting Lot: A waiting area located near the terminal for drivers who wish to wait for passengers arriving at the airport without leaving their vehicles. You can wait here for up to 60 minutes. You must not leave your vehicle.

Electric vehicle charging stations are available in certain garages. All parking lots have special parking spaces for disabled individuals located near the terminal entrances. Payments can be made by credit card and various mobile payment systems.

Car Rental at the airport

Renting a car at Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International Airport is quite easy. All car rental companies have counters in a modern and large Rental Car Center (RCC) located just outside the terminals. You can reach the RCC in a few minutes by taking the free shuttle buses that depart from the arrivals level of the terminals. Many leading national and international companies, such as Avis, Hertz, Enterprise, National, Budget, Alamo, and Sixt, offer a wide range of vehicles here. Most companies’ offices are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You can pick up your rental car from the multi-story parking garage inside the RCC.

Find transportation from the airport – bus, train ,brightline

Bus (Broward County Transit – BCT): BCT’s bus line 1 runs between the airport and important locations such as Fort Lauderdale city center, Broward Central Terminal, and Aventura Mall. Bus stops are located outside the terminals in designated areas.

Train (Tri-Rail & Brightline):Tri-Rail: There is no direct Tri-Rail station at the airport. However, you can easily reach the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport Station at Dania Beach (FLL) via free shuttle buses. Tri-Rail is a commuter rail line that serves Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach.

Brightline: You can reach the Brightline station in downtown Fort Lauderdale by taxi, rideshare, or BCT buses. Brightline offers fast and comfortable train service between Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, and Orlando.
Shuttles: Many private shuttle companies offer shared or private transfer services to surrounding areas such as Miami, Palm Beach, and the Florida Keys, as well as to ports, hotels, and tourist centers. If you plan to use this service, you must make a reservation in advance.

Taxis: Taxi stands are located in designated areas at the arrivals level of each terminal. Licensed taxis are available 24/7.

Rideshare (Uber/Lyft): Designated pickup points (Rideshare Pickup Zones) for Uber and Lyft are located at the arrivals level of each terminal.

VIP Lounge at Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport

FLL hosts VIP lounges belonging to various airlines and independent operators:

Delta Sky Club (Terminal 2, near Concourse D): Delta passengers and eligible guests can use this area.

United Club (Terminal 1, near Concourse C): United Airlines passengers and eligible guests can use this area.

The Escape Lounge The Centurion Studio Partner (Terminal 3, between Concourses E and F): American Express Platinum and Centurion cardholders can use this lounge area for free or at a discount. You can also use this lounge area for a fee.

Bahamasair Lounge (Terminal 3, near Concourse F): Bahamasair premium passengers can use this lounge area.
These lounges usually offer free Wi-Fi, comfortable seating areas, work stations, a variety of food and beverage options, and charging stations. Entry requirements and operating hours vary by lounge.

Lost & Found

If you lose an item in general airport areas such as terminal buildings, security checkpoints, or parking lots, you should contact the FLL Lost and Found Office. The Lost & Found Office is located on the 2nd floor of the Car Rental Center, across from the Enterprise counter. You can get information by filling out an online form or by calling (954) 359-2247. Operating hours are generally 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM on weekdays.

Terminal 3: Casavana Cuban Cuisine, Pei Wei Asian Diner, Steak ‘n Shake, Starbucks, Zona Fresca.

FLL has many shops where you can find last-minute gifts or just pass the time.

Hudson News/Booksellers (Multiple Locations): Books, magazines, newspapers, snacks, beverages, and travel supplies.

Duty Free Americas (International Concourses): Duty-free merchandise.

Fashion and Accessory Stores: Local boutiques, as well as brands such as Harley-Davidson, PGA Tour Shop, Victoria’s Secret, and Sunglass Hut.

Electronics Stores: InMotion Entertainment, Best Buy Express.

Gift Shops: South Florida and ocean-themed items, local artwork.

Shops are generally concentrated in the post-security (airside) areas of the terminals.

Duty Free

There are duty-free shops operated by Duty Free Americas at Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport, particularly in the terminals serving international flights (Terminal 1, Terminal 3, and Terminal 4). Terminals 1-4 have 3 Sixty Duty Free and Broward Duty Free stores. International travelers can purchase duty-free alcohol, tobacco products, perfume, cosmetics, confectionery, and luxury accessories at competitive prices from these stores.
