Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR), officially known as Bob Hope Airport, is located in the San Fernando Valley region of Southern California. This airport is a regional airport. The airport is located approximately 12 miles (19 km) north of downtown Los Angeles, in the city of Burbank.
It is close to popular tourist attractions such as Hollywood and Universal Studios. The airport is primarily used for domestic commercial flights. You can easily reach the airport via the I-5 (Golden State Freeway) using the Hollywood Way or Buena Vista Street exits. There are two terminals at the airport. These terminals are mainly used for flights to destinations within the United States.

Hollywood Burbank Airport – terminal a and b
The airport has two terminals located in the same building but with separate entrances and security checkpoints: Terminal A and Terminal B.
Terminal A: Southwest Airlines and Avelo Airlines use this terminal. Terminal A has 9 boarding gates (A1-A9). The ground floor of the terminal has baggage claim areas, ground transportation (taxi, shuttle, rideshare), and car rental counters. The upper level of the terminal has check-in counters, security checkpoints, boarding gates, food and beverage areas, and shops.
Terminal B: Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Spirit Airlines, and United Airlines use this terminal. Terminal B has 5 boarding gates (B1-B5). The ground floor of the terminal has baggage claim areas, ground transportation, and some check-in counters. The upper level has additional check-in counters, a security checkpoint, boarding gates, food and beverage outlets, and shops.
Parking Areas
There are parking areas at Hollywood Burbank Airport.
Short Term Parking Structure: This is the closest covered parking area to Terminals A and B. It is ideal for hourly and daily parking. Fee: Free for the first 30 minutes, 3 USD for each additional 30 minutes, maximum daily rate of 32 USD.
Economy Lot A: Approximately a 5-minute walk from the terminals. A more affordable option. Fee: $3 per hour, maximum daily rate of $13.
Economy Lot C: Long-term parking area. Free shuttle service to the terminals. Fee: $3 per hour, maximum daily rate of $13.
Economy Lot E: Open parking area near Terminal A. It is usually open depending on occupancy. It is not always open. It is opened for use when other parking areas are full. Fee: $3 per hour, maximum $24 per day.
Valet Parking: Valet service is available at the front of the terminals on the departure level. Fee: $32 per day.
Electric vehicle charging stations are available in the Short Term Parking Structure and Economy Lot E. Payments can be made by credit card (Visa, MasterCard, AmEx, Discover) or cash.
Car Rental at the airport
Car rental companies at Hollywood Burbank Airport have counters located next to the baggage claim area in Terminal A and on the ground floor of Terminal B. Rental cars are located across from the terminals at the Regional Intermodal Transportation Center (RITC). You can walk from the terminal to the RITC. Car rental companies such as Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National, Payless, Sixt, and Thrifty operate at this center. Offices generally operate according to airline flight schedules.
Find transportation from the airport – Amtrak, metro, burbank bus
Metrolink & Amtrak: The airport is close to Burbank Airport-South and Burbank Airport-North train stations. You can reach both train stations from the terminals via a free shuttle.
Metro Bus: Los Angeles County Metro bus lines serve the airport. Routes 165, 169, 222, and 294 pass through stops near the airport.
BurbankBus: The “NoHo-Airport” route connects the airport to the North Hollywood Metro Red Line and Orange Line Station.
Rideshare: Services such as Uber and Lyft are widely available at BUR. Pickup points are located outside each terminal in designated areas.
Taxis: Taxi stands are available at the exit of each terminal.
Lost & Found
If you lose an item in the airport terminals, parking lots, or shuttle buses, you should contact the Hollywood Burbank Airport Lost and Found office. The office is located on the lower level of Terminal B, near the baggage claim area. The office is open weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. You can reach the office by calling (818) 729-2231.

Smoking Areas
Smoking is strictly prohibited in the terminal building, including electronic cigarettes, in all enclosed areas. Passengers who wish to smoke must exit the terminal building and use the designated outdoor smoking areas located a certain distance from the arrival (lower level) and departure (upper level) exit doors. These areas are easily accessible.
