Barbara Jordan Terminal
The Barbara Jordan Terminal is the main terminal of this airport. Major airlines such as American Airlines, Delta, United, Southwest, Alaska, JetBlue, Allegiant, Frontier, British Airways, and Lufthansa operate their flights from here. There are 34 gates in this terminal. The check-in counters on the upper floor of the terminal are divided into two sections: east and west. There are three concourses in the post-security area: West Concourse, Central Concourse, and East Concourse. The lower level of the terminal houses baggage claim, ATMs, and currency exchange offices. The terminal has over 55 restaurants and cafes, more than 12 shops, free Wi-Fi, work booths, nursing rooms, and a live music stage.
South Terminal (Closed)
The South Terminal closed permanently on March 31, 2026. Allegiant Air and Frontier Airlines now check in, clear security and board at the Barbara Jordan Terminal, which added a new TSA checkpoint, two ticket counters and three gates on its west side for the move. The building is being removed for new taxiways and the future 26 gate Concourse B, planned for the early 2030s.
Austin Bergstrom Airport Car Rental
A rental car is the easiest way to explore Austin and the surrounding Hill Country. Downtown and 6th Street are about a 15 minute drive from the airport, Lady Bird Lake sits just beyond, and the Texas Hill Country wine towns and San Antonio are roughly 1.5 hours away by car.
Car rental companies have offices at Austin–Bergstrom Airport. All major rental car companies operate out of the Consolidated Rental Car Facility building, located directly across from the Barbara Jordan Terminal. Hertz, Avis, Budget, Enterprise, National, Alamo, Advantage Rent A Car, E-Z Rent A Car, FOX, Payless Car Rental of Austin, and Dollar are all located in this building. Covered walkways connect the terminal to the building.
