Calgary Airport Map

If you want to visit Canada’s famous Rocky Mountains, your first stop will be Calgary Airport. It is Canada’s fourth busiest airport. Approximately 20 million passengers use this airport each year.

It takes 20-25 minutes to reach the city center from the airport by taxi. There are taxi stands at different points in front of the terminal. Taxis operate 24 hours a day. However, there are differences in taxi fares between night and day. Night taxi fares are slightly higher.

You are quite fortunate in terms of transportation from the airport to the city. Calgary Transit’s Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) line 300 departs from the airport every 30 minutes. The journey on this bus takes approximately 40-50 minutes. If you are at the Domestic Terminal, exit through Door 2 and go to Pillar 7. If you are at the International Terminal, exit through Door 15 and go to Pillar 32 to board the bus from the stops there.

There are two terminals at Calgary Airport. The Domestic Terminal is used for domestic flights, and the International Terminal is used for flights to the United States and international flights.

Calgary Airport Terminals

Calgary Airport has two main terminals located very close to each other: the Domestic Terminal and the International Terminal. These two terminals are actually located in the same building. The Domestic Terminal is divided into Concourse A, B, and C. The International Terminal is divided into Concourse D and Concourse E. Concourse D is used for international flights, and Concourse E is used for flights to the United States. The terminal has free Wi-Fi, children’s play areas, waiting lounges, a VIP Lounge, car rental offices, currency exchange offices, ATMs, and baby care rooms.

Calgary Airport Domestic Terminal

The domestic terminal has been in service since 1977. This terminal has four concourses: A1, A2, B, and C. Concourses A1 and A2 are primarily used by WestJet. Air Canada and other airlines use Concourses B and C for their flights. The Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge is located near Gate 50. The WestJet Elevation Lounge is on the second floor of Concourse B. The terminal offers restaurants, cafes, duty-free shops, and services such as the OraOxygen Wellness Spa.

Calgary Airport International Terminal

The international terminal has two concourses: D and E. Concourse D is used for international flights. There is a separate section of the airport used exclusively for flights to the USA. Concourse E is used for flights to the United States. International flights outside Canada (except the USA) use Concourse E, which is reserved for flights to the USA. You go through customs and passport control here before going to the USA. This way, you don’t have to wait in line again when you arrive in the USA. This terminal has shops, restaurants, cafes, and duty-free shops.

Calgary Airport Car Rental

If you want to explore Banff, Jasper, and the Rocky Mountains region, you can rent a car at the airport. There are car rental offices at Calgary Airport. The Rental Car Center is located directly opposite the terminals, on the second floor of the parking area. After exiting the baggage carousel, follow the “Rental Car Center” signs to reach this area.
The airport has offices for international rental companies such as Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz, Alamo, Europcar, National, and Dollar.

There are also car rental company offices outside the airport. These companies offer a free shuttle service. The shuttle departs from bus stop number 22 at the Arrivals exit. Zoom Rent a Car, Routes Car Rental, and U-Save Car & Truck Rental operate outside the airport. When picking up your vehicle, all you need is your credit card, driver’s license, and reservation number.

I strongly recommend making your reservation online. Finding a vehicle is nearly impossible, especially during the summer months. Online car rental prices are also more affordable. When renting a car, make sure to choose the “Unlimited Mileage” option. This is because distances in Alberta are really long. If you are coming here in winter, your car should have winter tires. After picking up your car from the terminal, you can reach the Rocky Mountains in about a 1.5-hour drive.

There are two hotels inside Calgary Airport.

Calgary Airport Marriott In-Terminal Hotel: The Calgary Airport Marriott In-Terminal Hotel is located inside the International Terminal, right next to the baggage carousel. The hotel offers valet parking. The hotel features a fitness center, indoor pool, and Yakima Social Kitchen + Bar restaurant. You can access the hotel without passing through security. This means you can enter the hotel from outside the airport.

Delta Hotels Calgary Airport In-Terminal: This hotel is located directly opposite the Domestic Terminal. Delta Hotels Calgary Airport In-Terminal is connected to the terminal by a pedestrian bridge. The hotel has a great restaurant called Codo Agave Social House. The hotel has a 24-hour fitness center and an indoor pool.
