After your flight, you can reach the city center by both bus and taxi. Four express bus routes operate from the airport to the city center. The TD1 runs on the northern route, serving Mellieħa and Cirkewwa. The TD2 runs toward St. Julian’s. The TD3 runs toward Sliema and Gzira. TD4 operates on the Valletta and Gozo fast ferry route. Additionally, Route 88, Route 214 to Rabat, and Route 119 provide service between the airport and various parts of the city. Taxis depart from in front of the terminal.

Malta Airport Terminal

There is a single terminal at Malta Airport. The Check-In Hall and Welcomers’ Hall are located on the entrance side of the terminal. The upper level of the terminal is used for Schengen flights. The baggage claim area and tourist information desks are located on the arrivals level of the terminal.

There are 18 gates in the terminal. Gates 1-9 are used for Schengen flights, and Gates 10-18 are used for non-Schengen flights.

Ryanair, KM Malta Airlines, Lufthansa, Turkish Airlines, Wizz Air, and other airlines use the same terminal. Malta Airport has a simple layout. After passing through security, you’ll reach the gate area within 10 minutes.

Inside the terminal, there is a currency exchange office, ATMs, charging stations, Wi-Fi, and a VIP Lounge. The area beyond security includes restaurants, cafes, souvenir shops, and a duty-free zone. There is a parking lot in front of the terminal. The parking lot is within walking distance of the terminal.

Car rental offices at Malta Airport are located outside the terminal. Rental car offices are in the Park East area. All car rental companies are located on the first floor of the parking garage.
